Hello

My journey started in the Music Industry. After graduating from Hillsdale College with a double major in Computational Mathematics and Music Performance, I went on to receive my master's degree in Double Bass Performance from the University of Michigan. I landed my first job with a 60-year-old company and learned that I have a passion for process evaluation, development, and implementation. I spent 12 years with that company working on just that. I cut my teeth on Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, EOS, and other systems and management methodologies in a real company, working with real people, solving real problems.

 

I had the opportunity to test these skills in the startup world when I joined up with a painting company in need of process improvement due to massive scaling experienced over a very short time. In this consulting role, my passion for helping small business owners was confirmed, and over the course of five months we were able to implement the critical systems necessary for them to take their next step.

The idea for Emmaus came during this consulting stint. I am hardwired for process evaluation and problem solving. That said, once the problem is solved, I'm immediately ready to train someone to handle the process and allow myself to move onto the next problem.

There is a problem that is common to scaling small businesses: They need someone to develop systems and processes that work for their business. These services, however, are no longer needed once the process is created. The business's need shifts dramatically, instead requiring someone who has a passion for running the day-to-day operations of the company.
